The cemetery opened in 1906 with records available from this date. The site also has the local war memorial which was upgraded in 2008. Prior to this date St Ninian's Kirkyard, which is less than a mile away, was used for burials in the area of Stonehouse. More recent burials are at Glebe Cemetery, which is adjacent to St. Ninian's.
