    • Erskine Church, Falkirk

The man who inspired this period’s congregation, Rev. James Aitchison, was one of Falkirk’s most eminent Victorians. Interior view of a church with the minister at the communion table. He is wearing the black robes of the presbyterian faith. A Bible or hymnbook lies open in front of him. Behind him is the pulpit and the organ pipes. Erskine congregation was formed in 1747 and erected the building in the photograph in 1905.

Reverend James Aitchison, a United Free Church clergyman, was Minister of the Erskine Church in Falkirk for more than 50 years
